September Bloom Inc. is a commercial and residential general contractor in McMinnville TN, seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent experienced in apartment, hotel, or school construction to join our team. The selected candidate will have a minimum 15 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent leading every stage of the construction process of a large commercial project.

The Superintendent is responsible for the successful on-site daily coordination and direction of the assigned project, ensuring the project is safe, on budget, on schedule and in compliance with industry best practices. The Superintendent is required to work in a collaborative manner with the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as point of contact for subcontractors and vendors, providing daily direction to the subcontractors and enforcement of company procedures.

  • Enforces safety protocols and housekeeping standards onsite, while personally complying with all such protocols and standards.

  • Ensures that the project is happening on schedule, reports progress and delays to project manager 

  • Conducts walkthroughs and inspects work in progress at various stages, to ensure quality and contract compliance, identifying and addressing any deficiencies early.

  • Responsible for daily/weekly reporting of on-ground activities (subs attendance, progress for all the work etc.)

  • Communicates with Project Manager daily regarding the progress on the ground, any schedule delays, cost overruns, subcontractor issues, quality issues or any other project concerns.

  • Leads the organization of the site to ensure the materials are stored safely and the job site is clean at all times.

  • Works with Project Manager to coordinate material procurement and equipment rentals.

  • Leads receiving, verifying the quality and quantity as well as storing the materials in the designated space and recording it in the inventory management system.

  • Assists with acquisition of any permits required for construction as needed.

  • Verifies completion of work by conducting walkthroughs, triggering payment release to subcontractors through the project manager.

  • Maintains “as-built” drawings for permanent record.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly field office.

  • Assists Project Manager with other project-related tasks as requested.

  • Directs and guides Assistant Superintendent to help fulfill the responsibilities as required on applicable projects.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years experience as project superintendent on commercial projects

  • Ability to read and understand engineering design documents

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, sub-contractors, and internal project team

  • Ability to manage multiple projects

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Comfort with basic computer software, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Work Environment:

While on the job, the employee regularly works outside in various construction job site settings and in an office setting.

Physical Demands:

  • Works significant portion of day outside on construction site

  • Able to walk or stand for long periods of time

  • Able to lift/move up to 70 lbs.

  • Able to deal with the physical activities associated with a construction site (stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist)

  • Able to safely navigate work areas under construction

Employment Type: Full-time. Not remote/On-site.
