Assistant Superintendent

September Bloom Inc. is a commercial and residential general contractor in McMinnville TN, seeking an Assistant Commercial Superintendent experienced in apartment, school or hotel construction to join our team. The selected candidate will have a minimum 3 years of experience in construction supervision and quality control.
Primarily, the Assistant Commercial Superintendent will assist the Lead Superintendent and manage intake of materials, daily operations, quality control, reporting and detailed inspection of subcontractors work onsite.
Responsibilities:
Acts as point of contact for subcontractors and vendors, as directed by the Lead Superintendent, providing daily direction and enforcement of company procedures.
Enforces safety protocols and housekeeping standards onsite, while personally complying with all such protocols and standards.
Supports the Lead Superintendent to ensure that the project is happening within budget and on schedule.
Leads coordination of the quality control process by conducting walkthroughs with the team, recording any issues in a log.
Creates daily job reports and shares with the Lead Superintendent as well as the company management.
Communicates with the Lead Superintendent daily regarding any schedule delays, quality issues, subcontractor issues or other project concerns.
Works with Lead Superintendent to coordinate material procurement and equipment rentals.
Supports receiving, verifying the quality and quantity as well as storing any materials in designated spaces and recording it in the inventory management system.
Helps maintain a clean and orderly field office.
Assists Lead Superintendent with other project-related tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3+ years experience as project engineer/assistant superintendent, or foreman on commercial projects
Ability to read and understand construction plans and related documents
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, sub-contractors, and internal project team
Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks
Keen attention to detail
Comfort with basic computer software, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, note taking software e.g. One Note.
Work Environment:
While on the job, the employee regularly works outside in various construction job site settings and in an office setting.
Physical Demands:
Works significant portion of day outside on construction site
Able to walk or stand for long periods of time
Able to lift/move up to 70 lbs.
Able to deal with the physical activities associated with a construction site (stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist)
Able to safely navigate work areas under construction
Employment Type: Full-time. Non-remote/On-Site.
